A day out in Portpatrick
It’s Monday morning and I’m sat here at my desk trying to get motivated! It’s raining outside so I decided to check out my photographs from our lovely day out in Portpatrick yesterday and to share them with you.
We were lucky enough to arrive in the village yesterday and park up the car just as the engine was started up on Portpatrick Lifeboat. Sunday is a day for the crew exercise and is brilliant to watch. In the summer crew exercise takes place each Thursday evening at 7pm and during the winter each Sunday at 1.30pm. Portpatrick Lifeboat station is classed as an Explore station, offering the best visitor experience. You can visit the RNLI shop, see the Lifeboat and also pre-book a tour in some cases.
It was a beautiful blue day in Portpatrick. The village was busy with families and couples enjoying the sunshine, a huge variety of dogs being walked and the gift shops and hotels were all open for business. The Lifeboat in the harbour was creating a huge amount of interest from people walking along the sea front.
It’s always a lovely treat to sit outside one of the sea front Hotels whilst in Portpatrick and enjoy lunch. Yesterday was the first day of 2014 that we have enjoyed sitting outside and enjoyed a fresh crab sandwich, chips and a nice cold refreshment. Cheers!
